Description

Designed and built to cross oceans in safety and comfort, this professionally-built Birdsall motor yacht has just returned from another season cruising the Pacific and with summer maintenance complete she is fully equipped and ready to go again.

The round bilge hull, decks and Portuguese bridge was built by Trans Ocean Yachts from 1/4 computer-cut steel utilising close-frame stringerless box-sections and girders to ship-type scantlings. The GRP composite superstructure was professionally built by Dean Grice Boat Builders and the interior fit-out by Salthouse Marine Group in white American oak to a very high standard.

Highly regarded for her robust build and obvious aesthetic appeal, Scotsman is a serious passage-maker and a standout in her class. Powered by a single Gardner 6LXBT 250HP turbo diesel, she cruises effortlessly at 8 to 9 knots with an approximate 15L fuel burn at 8 knots giving ample range for Pacific-wide voyaging.

The accommodation is generous with a large Portuguese bridge with twin doors; comfortable seating and excellent forward visibility. The generous master cabin has a full walk-around with private ensuite and ample stowage for cruising. The second cabin forward provides options for four singles or a large double and twin singles. A day head and pilot berth is located midships in the lower companionway. The saloon is warm and inviting with practical aft-facing galley and breakfast bar, L-shaped dining, generous cabinetry and storage and fabulous visibility opening onto the cockpit with convenient walk-thru to the transom.

Equipped with powerful bow thruster, new Open Ocean water maker, 6.5kVa generator, upgraded electronics, Starlink and new IVC safety equipment, everything is onboard for a speedy winter departure.
