The chines on the hull and V-shaped bow give the vessel great sailing performance for a cruiser while allowing the vessel to have unmatched space above and below decks. The self-tacking jib as standard means less work for the crew and a more pleasurable sailing experience
The chines ensure more stability and together with a longer waterline provide a more direct and balanced helm. The prominent angles visible in the stern of the Bavaria C42 have another advantage - yielding more space and comfort for the stern cabin.
The BAVARIA V-shaped bow is narrow at the waterline and broadens up towards the deck - developed by Cossutti Yacht Design [Italy] and Bavaria yachts to add more volume to the hull in the foreship and therefore a new dimension and more room for the forward cabin. This additional volume ensure less trimming when heeling and the broad stern allows for more stability in any sea state.
When designing the deck layout, Bavaria yachts concentrated their efforts on some essential characteristics in order to make space for the enjoyment of sailing. The bow area and side deck provide plenty of flat space for a yacht of this size. Add to that the cockpit with its ergonomically formed L-shaped seating bench is also exceptionally spacious – guaranteeing a comfortable, fatigue-free seating position, whether sailing close to the wind or enjoying a lavish lunch around the large cockpit table. There is also generous storage under the cockpit seats and a forward and aft locker for fenders and other large equipment.
