Description

A beautifully equipped vessel that presents as new. Superbly set up for luxury cruising and entertaining with two spacious cabins. The Bavaria Vision 42 was designed specifically as a yacht that you can cruise for extended periods. Her fastidious owners have set her up for shorthanded sailing and with everything you could wish for. She also has the benefit of having been in MTNZ survey.

Inspection is encouraged.

Construction

GRP Isophthalic acid (IPA) resins in the outer layers used during the laminating process ensure that the hull provides barrier protection. The deck and hull are glued and also mechanical attached. Deck hardware has inlaid aluminium backing plates. Bavaria’s hulls are an e-glass/Divinicell foam core sandwich above the waterline and solid glass below, all hand-laid. A fiberglass grid is both bonded to the inside of the hull and secured by the keel bolts to provide rigidity and help support the rig loads.

Interior and Accommodation

Two cabins and a single head. The expansive owner’s cabin is forward and an enormous storage area aft. The port cabin is especially comfortable, because the companionway is offset slightly to starboard, thus providing it with some additional volume. Not only is it a spacious double, it can be easily divided up into a pair of generous single berths.

The saloon is well laid out well and very comfortable. The dinette table is as ingeniously conceived as is its counterpart out in the cockpit, and can be lowered to create yet another double berth to starboard. There is a small counter inboard of the L-shaped galley to help you stay on your feet when cooking in rough conditions, and the navigation table slides down to create a short settee to port. There is a separate fridge and freezer and three burner stove with oven.

The aft head and shower is huge and there is also access to the starboard large aft storage locker. Which is also accessible from the cockpit.

The interior finish is lovely with oak joinery and walnut cabin sole.

Fresh water 350 L in 2 tanks.
