In 1987 the lovely ship Waltamara was designed and built by Kennedy Marine and has had only 2 loving owners since. With a gracious feel, she is the perfect cruising boat for a large family or could just as easily be handled by a couple.
With plenty of room and a sociable flow throughout, she’s an easy launch to be aboard. She’ll sleep 7 in 2 cabins with 2 bathrooms and showers. A large central galley with domestic sized quality oven and decent sized fridge and freezer. Her dinette with open flow to the protected cockpit area increases the living area. The flybridge arrangement is much more sociable than most launches, allowing the captain to be in touch with their guests.
Much admired, Waltamara is one of only 3 "wide-body" Kennedy 46s built giving a greater planing area and much more stability at anchor. She is built of triple skinned kauri glassed over and is powered by 2 x 270hp Cummins V555 motors. She cruises at 2000rpm using only 36 litres per hour with a max speed of 19 knots. She carries 1160 litres of fuel and 1000 litres of water, making extended trips or living aboard easy.
Better than the rest, this is a rare and beautifully crafted Kiwi launch. If you’ve been looking for a family boat or retirement cruiser, this may well be perfect for you.
