Bavaria Cruiser 46

The Cruiser 46 replaces the Cruiser 45 and with the make-over convinced the judges at the 2015 Dusseldorf Boat Show to honour her with their Yacht of the Year award. She offers a lot of new features, e. g. the new deck design with its EYOTY 2015-402generous new cockpit, improved sitting comfort for crew and helmsman, a new cockpit table with large foldable wings and highlights like the integrated chart plotter (optional) as well as modern "state of the art" steering pedestals.

The boat provides lots of storage space on deck as well as down below. The large side windows emphasize the elegant lines of this beautiful yacht. The flush hatches contribute to the very "tidy" look of the deck with its spacious and functional cockpit and the transom hatch that can be lowered to form a broad swimming platform that also serves as the perfect dinghy landing.

The design highlights include, predictably, the largest bathing platform in her class, electrically raised and lowered (very James Bond) and twin rudders. This spans the total beam and transforms into a helmsman seat when closed. With so much beam aft, twin rudders are necessary to ensure predictable steering at higher angles of heel, which a centreline single rudder could only achieve through a very deep draft. The added bonus, is that while this extremely robust dual Lewmar system is unlikely to ever give problems, the rudders can be used independently in the event of a steering failure on one side - offering great performance and maximum safety.

Interior

The interiors convince with the abundant light and air and the new, more "rounded" style of the furnishings. For some it might be surprising that the designer's eliminated the chart table but on second thoughts it is a logical step in times were electronics use to be mounted in the cockpit and navigation takes place on deck. The plus in space for settees and salon table is remarkable. A chart table integrated into the salon table can be ordered as an option.

This yacht is cavernous below decks. 3 double cabins, 3 heads and showers, all en suite, with the option of the option of converting the owners suite forward into 2 double cabins.  The so called "charter-to-owner concept" allows to reconvert the two front cabins into one large owner's cabin without any problem - e.g. when after using the yacht in charter less cabins are needed.

The saloon and aft cabin of the 3-cabin layout of the Bavaria 46 are identical to the 4-cabin version. The owner´s cabin features a large island bed, an ample wardrobe and a lot of light through the large hatches. The toilet room offers a comfortable ambience with a spacious washing basin next to an integrated laundry bag – a room which extends beyond the necessary functionality. The standard shower cabin backboard perfects the stylish character of the owner´s cabin. The large L-shaped kitchen makes cooking fun; the neatly placed hand rail ensures safety throughout the saloon. This inviting saloon with excellently thought-through concepts ensures living onboard is a real pleasure.

Couple the on-board amenities with impressive sailing performance, massive storage in the cockpit area and the Bavaria 46 is a true blue water passage maker. With interior joinery available in bosse mahogany, oak or teak and with 11 styles of upholstery to choose from, this spacious and ergonomic yacht can be customized to your individual requirements.

A fast and secure yacht designed by Farr Yacht Design that will please charterers and owners alike.
