Busfield Marine Brokers is one of New Zealand’s best known brokerage firms having been founded in the early 1980s. It has remained in the same building at 23b Westhaven Drive for it’s entire existence. Originally established by Peter Busfield (now President of the Marine Industry Association) it was purchased by marine electronics firm “Nav Station” in June 2008.

Nav Station Managing Director, Bill Rutherford, said he was attracted by the brokerage’s long history of integrity and honesty.

“When Peter founded Busfield Marine, he set very high standards,” he says, “and these have been faithfully maintained in the years since. Busfield Marine has a rigorous set of ethics and standards which ensures both parties are completely protected through all stages of the sales process. We use only independent surveyors and all deposits are secured in a trust account.”

Busfield Marine Brokers has recently acquired the distribution rights for Bavaria Yachts and Seawind Catamarans.

Bavaria is one of the largest boatbuilders in the world and have a well established fleet here in New Zealand with many satisfied owners. Their yachts represent excellent value for money and are well equipped to deal with New Zealand’s maritime conditions. The yachts in Bavaria’s line up range from 31ft to the new Farr designed Cruiser 55.

Seawind Catamarans isAustralia’s largest manufacturer of cruising sail and power catamarans producing some of the world’s best designs that are sold all over the globe. Since 1982 the company has been owned and managed by Richard Ward, an experienced yachtsman who has cruised the world. Seawind has become Australia’s leading catamaran builder due to an uncompromising level of quality, ensuring each boat is always built complete to Seawind’s high level of standards. Their innovations in design have always been ahead of the field.

Busfield Marine Brokers is extremely strong in the used boat market as well. Our brokers, Colin Rees and Peter Broadhurst have over 20 years experience in the New Zealand boat brokering marketplace. We maintain a number of sales berths in Westhaven Marina to maximize an owners exposure to potential buyers as well as a large presence on the web and in the New Zealand marine media.
